SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAM

 Our holiday program caters for kids 7-13 years old who love to sing and dance. No experience required. 

Kids will spend five days rehearsing a mini-musical version of ALICE IN WONDERLAND that they'll perform for family and friends on the final day. They'll also play games, make props, and meet new friends. 

The show is a new adaptation written specifically for a large group of young people, and features modern and classic pop songs. Every child enrolled in the program will be given a role in the show, from Alice to the Mad Hatter to the wicked Queen of Hearts. Their days will be spend learning lines, songs and dance routines, as well as building their performance skills.

Monday 6 January - Thursday 9 January

9:00am-3:00pm

Friday 10 January

9:00am-4:30pm

The show will be performed at 4:30pm, and finish at 5:30pm.

HOW MUCH?

$180 per child for the week

What will my child need for the holiday program?

Every day they will need to bring recess, lunch, a water bottle and a hat. On the first day they will be given a script and songbook which they will need to have for the rest of the week. Every child will have a role in the show, which means some lines and songs to learn. 

If your child has any medications, these will need to be provided to the co-ordinator.

They will need to be dressed in comfortable clothes that are easy to move in. No elaborate jewellery, jeans, or strappy shoes.

Once your child has been allocated a role, they will need to provide their own costume for the show on Friday. However, these are only expected to be simple and should be able to be created out of items they already own. No extra purchases or sewing is expected! Suggestions will be provided.

Does my child need to be an experienced performer?

Absolutely not! This week is all about having fun. If your child has been involved in shows before that's great, but it's not expected. Anyone enrolled in the program should have a love of singing, dancing and playing pretend, but any skills they need they will learn during the week.

Do we have to enrol in the full week?

Yes. As we'll be working towards the performance on the Friday, it is an expectation that everyone involved will be there every day. 

How many kids are involved?

Numbers are capped at 21. This ensures everyone involved gets a worthwhile experience and a chance to shine. 

What if I need to cancel?

If you make a cancellation prior to 7 days before the program starting, you will receive a full refund. Between 1-6 days before the start of the program you will receive 50% of the cost returned. After 24 hours prior to the performance starting, you will not be eligible for a refund. 

Who will be running the program?

Wilde & Darling is owned and operated by Sarah Westgarth, a fully qualified performing arts teacher. She will be co-ordinating the program throughout the week. Sarah has taught performing arts for over twelve years, working at Theatre Bugs, and teaching Music and Drama across a variety of schools in South and Western Australia. Sarah is a registered teacher, has a current Working with Children's check, and First Aid qualifications. More information about Sarah can be found here.
